Todd Werner: Press/Reviews

"…Todd has a gift of reaching right into the listeners heart and soul through his powerful yet simple lyrics and sound…”
- Homeward Bound Magazine
“Werner has put these and many other deep thoughts together in 10 fun, feel-good songs that he wrote, arranged, and produced himself. The music is folksy and upbeat. Sometimes it's downright danceable. …Werner's CD has what it takes to become a dependable mood alterer at pivotal times in a child's day, or a parent's,
for that matter.

Todd's program was wonderful. It engaged all of the students and they
really enjoyed learning and singing his songs. Todd's emphasis on
getting along, making friendly choices, and building self-esteem proved
to be another great tool to encourage and teach children about positive
character traits. His message is age-appropriate and very powerful.
Todd has a variety of music and activities in his repertoire, so we were
able to focus the program to our school's needs. It was a fantastic
experience for children and the adults. Thanks for the excellent
performance.

It was great to have you at Cooper this week. I know the kids enjoyed it a lot. In my conversations with them in the halls, classrooms, and lunchroom yesterday and today, I heard that they especially enjoyed “Don’t Be Bossy” and “What Do You Think Would Happen?” In fact, we’ve adopted lyrics from both of those tunes and are working them into the common Cooper vernacular – in addition to the shared language we’ve developed with our restitution model, we now can say to one another, “Be nice!” and “What do you think would happen if…..” It all adds to the culture of the school.
I especially appreciated your comments on peacemaking, and on our roles as peace makers. I think sometimes kids get the impression that the responsibility for making the world a better place belongs to someone else, not to them. Your music and your words reinforced the concepts that we all have a role to play, we all are connected, and we all have a responsibility to take care of one another. What a great message to instill in our kids!
