I have been busy working on a compilation CD of some of the best artists and musicians in the area and in Wisconsin which is called "VOICES". Some of the artists are Janet Planet, John Altenburgh (aka :Johnny and the MoTones), Otis and the Alligators, Scott Kirby, LJ Booth, Todd Werner, Mark and Paul Szmanda, Tommy Bentz, and others. All proceeds from the sale of this CD will go toward Peaceful Solutions Counseling and The Women's Community Inc. It is not available online since I wanted every penny to go toward services to kids and families affected by abuse. I was just informed that Just Plain Folks Music Awards nominated one of my songs off my "Circles" CD in the New Age category. The winner will be announced on November 4th. This award program is the largest and most diverse song contest in the world. Over 300,000 songs were submitted this year alone. That is a lot of music. I am proud to be a part of it!
I decided to go to Nashville to hire the best musicians I could find, record on music row, and record some of my favorite adult songs that I've written over the years. Wow, I had an incredible experience that has been a dream of mine since I was a pimply faced kid wildly strumming my out of tune guitar while bouncing on my bed pretending I was Neal Diamond. Yes, that was along time ago! (at least a few months).
I decided to re-record a few songs that I did from previously CD's and "juiced them up a bit" and I have written a lot of new ones which I am grateful for receiving. I think this CD has more of a "mainstream " feel to it, which was my intention. I am really excited and proud of this project.
The songs include: Now and Then, The Story of You, It's All About Love, Montana Moonlight Serenade, We are Spirit, Start to Begin, I Do, Anna, Like a Sad Song, Find Peace Everywhere.
